Worcester Regional Airport is hosting a new exhibit in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month that is shining a spotlight on local students. The ‘Young Men Moving Mountains’ initiative is an engaging photo exhibit that features the faces and stories of young men bravely sharing their experiences with mental health.

The exhibit, which includes five Worcester-area students, features QR codes that allow viewers to hear the personal stories of these young men. In addition, there is a hashtag that encourages others to share their own portraits and statements on social media, fostering a sense of community and connection.

The exhibit is organized by the Yellow Tulip Project, a non-profit organization focused on youth-driven mental health initiatives. Executive Director Anaïs DerSimonian stated that this exhibit is a project created ‘by young men, for young men,’ aiming to show that young boys can be powerful, cool, and in their element while also being willing to talk openly about mental health challenges.

Visitors can experience the exhibit until June 30, encompassing both Mental Health Awareness Month in May and Men’s Health Month in June. This innovative and heartfelt display is an important reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the power of sharing one’s story.
