Sevilla has announced the appointment of Francisco Garcia Pimienta as their coach for the upcoming season. The 49-year-old former Las Palmas and Barcelona reserves coach will be taking over from Quique Sanchez Flores, who decided to leave the Andalucian side. Garcia Pimienta has signed a one-year contract with the option of an additional year.

During his time at Las Palmas, Garcia Pimienta’s team started the season strongly but struggled in the latter part, failing to win any of their last 14 league matches. However, he has been given the opportunity to lead Sevilla next season and make a positive impact on the team. The Spanish club had a disappointing season, finishing 14th in the league. Sanchez Flores was brought in as the third coach of the campaign after the dismissals of Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso, and he managed to help the team avoid relegation.

Garcia Pimienta will be tasked with turning around the team’s fortunes and leading them to a more successful season. He is expected to bring his experience and knowledge to bear on improving Sevilla’s performance on and off the pitch. With his appointment, Sevilla fans are hopeful for a better season ahead.
