Sentara Health has recently announced plans to invest over $107 million in a new hospital in Southside, Virginia. This is an increase from the initial $70 million budget and is aimed at providing quality healthcare to residents for generations to come.
Brian Zwoyer, President of Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, emphasized the importance of a healthy community and how a new acute care hospital will strengthen the foundation of the region. The new Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital will offer a range of services including general surgery, intensive care, emergency care, and operating rooms.
In addition to healthcare services, the new hospital will feature modern amenities such as abundant green spaces, private patient rooms with bathrooms, and accommodations for overnight guests. Construction of the Halifax Regional Hospital is expected to be completed by the summer of 2026.
