On Sundays, the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) offers special early access hours for sensory-friendly exploration and activities, followed by an IMAX film screening at 12:30 p.m. The theater experience is modified to provide a sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, with lights turned up and sound lowered, presenting films in 2D with no trailers. Audience members are encouraged to freely move, sing, walk, dance, and shout without concern. Families can bring snacks, blankets, and small items for comfort.

Sensory-Friendly Sundays at MODS include a variety of sensory-based activities that allow children to improve social interactions and sensory processing, modulation, and regulation. Guests can engage in activities such as science shows, learning labs, outdoor science parks, live animal collections, and a grand atrium with the Great Gravity Clock – a 52-foot-tall kinetic energy sculpture – the largest clock in Florida. Sponsored by ABA Centers of Florida and Fifth Third Bank, these events are free for both members and non-members.
