The Alpena Senior Citizens Center is observed at 501 River St.
ALPENA — Seniors will have a day complete of well being and fitness ideas on Wednesday at the Alpena Senior Citizens Center 501 River Street.
The senior center has partnered with MyMichigan Health’s Neighborhood Education Division and other nearby specialists and educators to present a Senior Overall health and Fitness Fair from 11:30 a.m. to three p.m. on Wednesday, which is National Senior Overall health and Fitness Day.
The senior center is hosting the system for the very first time this year.
“I’ve usually wanted to do it in the previous, so this year, we’re carrying out it,” stated BJ Sander, Alpena Senior Citizens Center system manager.
Sander heads up senior physical exercise at ten a.m. each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning, and she stated a lot of seniors have observed wonderful final results from participating in that class.
She added that common physical exercise can increase balance, general physical well being, mental well being, and the group classes supply a social chance.
“This is a way of providing back to them for becoming committed to their well being,” Sander stated of her physical exercise class participants.
The totally free occasion is open to any interested seniors.
Vendor booths will be presented by Alcona Overall health Center, Alpena Fire Division, Catholic Human Solutions, Healogics, Kindred, Michigan Division of Overall health and Human Solutions, Michigan State University Extension, MyMichigan Overall health, Northeast Michigan Neighborhood Service Agency, Thunder Bay Fyzical Therapy, Thunder Bay Transportation, and the U.S. Division of Agriculture.
Presentations consist of Nutrition at 12:30 p.m., Stopping Heat-Associated Illness at 12:45 p.m., Spiritual Care and Loneliness at 1 p.m., Osteoporosis and Eating plan at 1:15 p.m., Osteoporosis and Remedy Possibilities at 1:30 p.m., Inpatient Rehabilitation Solutions at 1:45 p.m., Fall Danger Prevention at two p.m., Senior Applications at two:15 p.m., and Overview of Physical Therapy at two:30 p.m.
