Senator Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican, has accused President Joe Biden of orchestrating the 34-count conviction of former President Donald Trump. The senator, along with seven other senators, signed a letter accusing the Biden White House of undermining the rule of law and changing the country’s politics in un-American ways by orchestrating the judicial proceedings.

In their letter, the senators expressed their unwillingness to support the White House in what they see as an attempt to divide the country. They pledged to block Senate business related to White House initiatives, including preventing increases in non-security funding, blocking spending bills that fund partisan activities, and impeding political and judicial appointments.

The senators also vowed to obstruct attempts to expedite Democratic bills that they believe are unrelated to the safety of the American people. Democratic state Rep. Gloria Johnson of Knoxville criticized this pledge as being beneath the dignity of a U.S. senator.

This action sets the stage for increased tension and political gridlock in the Senate as both parties clash over the fallout from Trump’s conviction, which is likely to have far-reaching consequences on American politics for years to come.
