Sega has announced the reboot of its popular Crazy Taxi game series. The new game, which is described as an open-world, massively multiplayer AAA title, will be powered by Unreal Engine and feature a theme park-like map that draws inspiration from the U.S. West Coast. In a developer-focused video interview, Sega shared more details about the game, confirming it as a large-scale, open-world driving game with multiplayer gameplay that stays true to the classic style of the original game.

During The Game Awards 2023, Sega revealed new games in franchises like Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Crazy Taxi. The teaser trailer showcased brief gameplay clips of each of these returning games. The producer of the new Crazy Taxi stated that it will support multiplayer gameplay while still staying true to the classic Crazy Taxi style.

While no official release date has been announced for the Crazy Taxi reboot or any other new games from Sega, fans are excited for what they have in store. Additionally, last month it was reported that Sega is also working on a remake of the original Jet Set Radio as a separate project from the officially announced franchise reboot. Screenshots and footage of the Jet Set Radio remake have been circulating online.
