The Seattle Mariners received positive news recently with starting pitcher Bryan Woo’s potential return to the rotation before the All-Star break. He has been sidelined with a hamstring strain that he suffered during a game against the Tampa Bay Rays on a recent road trip. The information about his return was shared by Curtis Rogers of Seattle Sports 710, who heard it from a Jerry Dipoto interview on MLB Network Radio.

Despite his undeniable talent, Woo has a history of health concerns. This season, he has a 3-1 record and a 1.77 ERA in seven starts, but he has dealt with multiple injuries in the past. He underwent Tommy John surgery in college, has been on the injured list twice in the past year for elbow inflammation, and recently had a start skipped due to arm discomfort. Bringing him back for a start before the All-Star break could help keep him sharp without overworking him.

After suffering a 2-0 loss on Tuesday night, the Mariners are now 47-40 for the season and still hold a 3.0 game lead in the American League West over the Houston Astros. The team will face the Orioles again on Wednesday evening, with Logan Gilbert set to start for Seattle.

In other news, the Mariners have faced challenges with a top prospect being unable to play in Canada due to developments. However, they also have five Top-100 prospects in their lineup. Additionally, manager Scott Servais explained the decision to drop Julio Rodriguez in the batting order.
