Scottie Scheffler made a solid start to his second round of the PGA Championship, despite a dramatic morning that included his arrest. Starting on the back nine, Scheffler went birdie, bogey, birdie, par over his first four holes. This performance puts him at 1-under par for the day and 5-under par for the tournament, tied for eighth place.

On the 11th hole, Scheffler had a two-putt for bogey after his tee shot missed the green. However, he quickly bounced back with another birdie on the 12th hole. Scheffler continued his solid play with a par on the par-4 13th hole, keeping him at 5-under for the tournament and four shots behind leader Xander Schauffele.

In golf, competitors are aiming to complete each hole in the fewest strokes possible. Par refers to the number of strokes a golfer is expected to take to complete a hole. A birdie indicates that the golfer took one fewer stroke than par, while a bogey means they took one extra stroke. With Scheffler’s solid start to his second round, he is positioning himself well within the leaderboard at the PGA Championship and setting himself up for success in future rounds.
