Scottie Scheffler made history by becoming the first player since Arnold Palmer in 1962 to win six times before July when he secured his sixth PGA Tour win of the season at the Travelers Championship. The final round was briefly interrupted by protesters running onto the 18th green while the last group was finishing up. After play resumed, Scheffler narrowly missed a birdie putt that would have clinched victory, leading to a play-off with South Korea’s Tom Kim.

Despite facing tough competition from Kim, Scheffler commended his opponent for putting up a good fight. Both Scheffler and Kim finished tied at 22 under par after impressive rounds of 65 and 66 respectively. The play-off on the 18th hole saw Scheffler secure a par while Kim struggled to get out of a difficult lie in a greenside bunker, resulting in Scheffler’s victory.

With this win, Scheffler continues to solidify his position as world number one and cements his status as a top player on the PGA Tour. His success at the Travelers Championship further showcases his talent and ability to perform under pressure in competitive settings. Scheffler described the win as “pretty special” and reflected on the success he has had throughout the season. He expressed gratitude for the support he has received from his fans and teammates, which has helped him achieve his goals on and off the course.
