Starting June 1, United Airlines will introduce a new ice cream option in their long-haul business class. This change comes after passengers complained about inconsistent ice cream quality at different stations. The airline will now serve Tillamook vanilla bean and strawberry ice cream, along with toppings for a strawberry shortcake sundae in their Polaris and premium transcontinental cabins.
Tillamook is known for their cheese, but now passengers can enjoy their ice cream in-flight as well. Flights departing after 9:45 a.m. will receive this new dessert option. Passengers can opt for a single scoop of Tillamook strawberry ice cream with strawberry compote, shortcake, Biscoff crumbles, and whipped cream to create their own sundae.
United first introduced build-your-own sundaes in their Polaris business product eight years ago, but faced issues with cracking bowls. Despite cutbacks in business class food options since then, the ice cream carts returned last year. Passengers can now look forward to trying the new Tillamook ice cream and reporting back on its quality when flying with United.
