The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the village of Saranac Lake have announced that the 10th annual Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Truck Parade and Tree Lighting will return on Friday, Dec. 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event kicks off with a parade featuring fire trucks from various departments in the spirit of unity and collaboration, culminating with Santa Claus lighting a tree in Berkeley Green at 7:15 p.m. The festivities continue with a sing-along led by the Northern Lights Choir and warm cookies and hot cocoa served next to the bonfire.
Following the parade, children will have an opportunity to visit Santa at the Saranac Lake Free Library from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., where they can share their wish lists and capture their moment with a photo. The tree in Riverside Park will also be lit at 7:30 p.m., thanks to a generous donation from Moody Tree Farm.
This event is made possible by the support and collaboration of several valued organizations, including the Women’s Civic Chamber, the Saranac Lake Free Library, Adirondack Health, and the Northern Lights Choir.
Area fire departments, businesses, and organizations are welcome to enter a vehicle into the parade by RSVPing to Santa Parade Chair Douglas Peck at [518-891-2414](mailto:518-891-2414) or [westfirefighter17@hotmail.com](mailto:westfirefighter17@hotmail.com).
