The Samsung Galaxy Ring is set to be fully unveiled on July 10, following its initial tease in January. While some screenshots have already leaked online, showcasing the smart ring’s health-tracking capabilities, these images are courtesy of Android Authority and have been obtained from a deep dive into the code for the Samsung Health app for Android.

The code has been added to the app but is not yet enabled or visible to users. From the screenshots, it is evident that the Samsung Health app will be able to measure heart rate, stress, predict periods, and take skin temperature readings through the Galaxy Ring. Additionally, snore detection is also included, with a combination of the Galaxy Ring and a connected Android phone handling the audio detection process.

Comparing the health-tracking features of the Galaxy Ring to those of the Galaxy Watch 6 reveals that while both offer similar functionality, the ring offers this in a lighter form factor. This could make it a more comfortable option for users who find smartwatches bulky. Ultimately, personal preference may be the deciding factor when choosing between a smart ring and a smartwatch.

While smartwatches generally offer more features due to their dedicated displays, smart rings are often preferred for activities like sleep tracking and intense workouts due to their compact and lightweight design. The upcoming Samsung Unpacked event on July 10 is expected to reveal more details about the Galaxy Ring, as well as new foldable phones and smartwatches.
