Samsung Memory recently held a summit at Hotel Esplanade, presenting the latest data on the global memory market with a special focus on Croatia and Slovenia. The conference was attended by the largest hardware distributors in the region, who were also awarded for their contribution to the memory market.

Croatia and Slovenia are significant markets in Central and Eastern Europe, with a growing interest in modern NVMe drives over older SATA drives. In Croatia, for every 100 discs sold, 55 are from the latest generation. Samsung Memory’s focus extends beyond SSDs to include MicroSD cards, which are increasingly used in devices like drones and action cameras.

In the third quarter of 2024, Samsung Memory will introduce two new 1 TB MicroSD cards, the EVO Plus and PRO Plus, in Croatia and Slovenia. These cards feature eight layers of eighth-generation V-NAND, offering high capacity previously only seen in SSDs. The new cards are designed to withstand challenging conditions with features like water resistance, extreme temperature protection, drop resistance, scratch protection, X-ray protection, and magnetic protection.

Samsung presented predictions for the memory card market, anticipating continued growth driven by the increasing use of drones, action cameras, and digital security cameras. Sales are expected to reach 44 million pieces per year by 2026.

The recent summit by Samsung Memory provided valuable insights into the global memory market, highlighting the importance of Croatia and Slovenia and showcasing innovative new products to meet the evolving needs of consumers.
