On Friday, the Saints announced the signing of tight end Jesper Horsted, who brings four years of NFL experience to their roster. Horsted originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Bears in 2019 after playing college football at Princeton. Throughout his career, he has played in a total of 41 games, making one start for both the Bears (2019-21) and the Raiders (2022-23). He has accumulated 14 receptions for 131 yards, scoring three touchdowns, and recorded 10 special teams tackles.

During his final season with the Raiders in 2023, Horsted caught a pass for a 4-yard gain and excelled on their special teams with four coverage tackles. He saw limited action on offense with eight snaps and played significantly on special teams with 216 snaps last season. Overall, Horsted has been on the field for 186 offensive snaps and 527 special teams snaps in his career.

In a corresponding move, the Saints waived undrafted rookie wide receiver Kyle Sheets, who recently joined the team after going undrafted out of Slippery Rock.
