New Orleans native safety Roderic Teamer has signed a one-year deal with the Saints, adding a familiar face to the team’s roster. Teamer, who is 27 years old, made an impression in the Saints’ minicamp on a tryout basis before securing a spot on the roster.

Teamer began his NFL career with the Chargers in 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane. He made six starts and played seven games in his rookie season before being waived in 2020 due to a suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

After spending time with the Colts in the 2021 offseason, Teamer signed with the Raiders in June of that year and appeared in ten games for the team. He played in all 17 games for Las Vegas during the 2022 season, primarily contributing on special teams.

However, Teamer’s tenure with the Raiders came to an end when he was cut following a DUI arrest in November of last season. While he faces potential league discipline for this incident, the Saints are giving him an opportunity to revive his career in his hometown.
