After three successful years as a valuable role player for the Sacramento Kings, former lottery pick Davion Mitchell was traded to the Toronto Raptors on June 27. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Mitchell thanked the Kings organization and its fans for their support and memories together.

In his statement, Mitchell expressed his gratitude to the city of Sacramento and its fans for embracing him from day one. He also thanked his teammates, coaches, trainers, and staff for their unwavering support during his time with the Kings. Mitchell acknowledged that Sacramento will always hold a special place in his heart and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to play for such an incredible organization.

During his time with the Kings, Mitchell averaged 7.4 points and 2.8 assists in 20.4 minutes per game, with a 32.7% shooting percentage from 3-point range. Known for his defensive prowess, Mitchell often took on important defensive matchups, showcasing his skills honed during his championship-winning season at Baylor.

As he moves on to Toronto, Mitchell is excited to take on new challenges with the young Raptors squad. Despite leaving behind some dear friends in Sacramento, he knows that he will always cherish the memories he made there and looks forward to returning as a visitor in the future.
