Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty have been on fire so far this WNBA summer. With a league-best record of 15-3 through 18 games, it’s clear that the team is dominating the league. Ionescu’s contributions have been vital in their recent success, earning her Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors.

Their most recent week was no different, as they won three out of four games. Ionescu averaged an impressive 25 points, 9.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. Despite their impressive record, they suffered a significant loss against the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship.

Despite this defeat, Ionescu put up a strong performance, scoring 23 points, collecting 10 rebounds, and dishing out four assists. However, it wasn’t enough to secure a win after a third-quarter slump. The Liberty will need to continue their strong play if they want to make it to the playoffs later in the season.

Looking ahead, their upcoming schedule includes a home game against the Atlanta Dream and a rematch against Minnesota Lynx again as well as matchup against Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever. With these challenges ahead, it will be interesting to see how well they can maintain their momentum and continue their success throughout the rest of the season.

Overall Sabrina Ionescu and New York Liberty have been making waves in the league with their impressive record and strong play so far this summer season.
