Ryobi North America recently donated over $4,000 worth of tools to the Roper Mountain Science Center on May 29. The donation was aimed at enhancing the center’s public and educational programs and strengthening the partnership between the two organizations. The tools included battery-powered cordless tools, clearing products, and cordless cooling fans that will be used for the center’s Summer Adventure program.

Michael Weeks, director at Roper Mountain, expressed gratitude for Ryobi’s ongoing partnership and their generous donation. He shared that Ryobi had sponsored the Summer Adventure program the previous year and provided hands-on activities for families in the maker space, which was very popular among visitors. The tools donated by Ryobi will be used to maintain and create new exhibits for school lessons and public programs at Roper Mountain.

Marisa Trzemzalski, president of the Roper Mountain Science Center Association, also thanked Ryobi for their support. She mentioned that Ryobi’s products and commitment to innovation align with the experience offered at Roper Mountain. She expressed hope that their relationship would inspire the next generation of DIYers and outdoor enthusiasts to pursue careers in science and technology.

Bobby Shaw, group president of consumer power tools at Ryobi North America, explained that their company is dedicated to supporting initiatives like Roper Mountain that promote STEM education. He shared that they are excited about continuing to work with Roper Mountain in the future and look forward to providing more opportunities for families to learn about science through hands-on activities in their maker space.
