Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly spoke to reporters before the team’s first minicamp practice on Tuesday, addressing a range of topics during his press conference. Kelly shared his concerns about the potential expansion of the regular season to 18 games, stating that he believed it would be too much for players.

Kelly also praised left tackle Bernhard Raimann, acknowledging his hard work and dedication to improving on the field despite limited experience. He highlighted Raimann’s ability to trust in his athleticism and learn and grow as a player.

When asked about offensive coordinator Frank Reich’s efforts to put the offense in more challenging situations during OTAs, Kelly commended the team’s positive response to the challenges. He emphasized the importance of continuity from the previous season to the upcoming one, noting the team’s progress and development during offseason training.

In addition to these topics, Kelly discussed wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.’s return under contract, praising Pittman for his hard work and leadership qualities. He also credited offensive line coach Tony Sparano with rebuilding the confidence of the unit in 2023, leading to improved performance on the field.

Overall, Kelly expressed optimism about the team’s growth and development heading into the new season, attributing much of their success to the strong relationships and trust built within the team.
