Ruthven Meat Processing, a small business located in Palo Alto County, has been named the Small Business of the Week by U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa). The business was founded in 2002 by the Kraft family and has since become a hidden gem in the Ruthven area, known for their commitment to providing high-quality meats and cheeses to customers.

Terry and Beth Kraft started the business with a focus on offering meats, custom meat processing, and meat storage to customers in Palo Alto County. In 2019, their son Chris took over as president and CEO while his wife Suzie serves as vice president of marketing. The company has continued to expand, with locations in Arnolds Park, Spencer, and Spirit Lake.

Ranking Member Ernst praised Ruthven Meat Processing for their entrepreneurial spirit and technical butcher training that has led to their success. She announced her plans to highlight a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties throughout this Congress.

The Iowa Meat Processors Association recognized Ruthven Meat Processing for their excellence, further solidifying their reputation as a top small business in the state.
