On Saturday, Rutgers football received a significant boost with the commitment of three-star defensive lineman Braxton Kyle. Kyle’s commitment marks the second of the day for Rutgers, following the earlier commitment of defensive lineman Miron Gurman. As a junior last season, Kyle recorded 75 total tackles and 13 sacks in 22 games while playing for North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia.
Kyle received an offer from Rutgers in early March, his first Power Five offer, in addition to offers from other schools such as Appalachian State, Bowling Green, Marshall, Troy, and UAB. His commitment solidifies him as the third defensive lineman in this class for the Scarlet Knights.
In mid-April, three-star offensive lineman Jyon Simon from Florida also committed to the program, adding depth to Rutgers’ roster. The back-to-back commitments on Saturday bolster Rutgers’ football program as they continue to build a strong recruiting class.
