On June 14, Russian forces conducted a daring raid on a US-made HIMARS and M270 MLRS rocket artillery complex in Ukraine. According to a report released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, units of the Dnieper wing targeted a battery carrying ATACMS missiles that were preparing to fire. The specific type of weapon and location of the raid have not been disclosed, but it is known that the Dnieper army wing operates on the Kherson front and part of Zaporizhzhia province.

A video from a thermal imaging sensor on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was published by Russian media, showing an explosion and large fire after an attack on a target suspected to be an M270 complex preparing to fire an ATAMCS ballistic missile near the village of Shevchenkivsky. It is unclear whether these attacks were aimed at the HIMARS and M270 MLRS complexes mentioned by the Russian military.

According to The_Wrong_Side account, known for posting documents about Russia’s raids in Ukraine, the entire launcher and operating crew of the M270 MLRS system carrying the ATACMS shell were destroyed by Iskander tactical ballistic missiles before they could launch projectiles. Ukrainian air defense systems allowed at least three Iskander-M ballistic missiles and one Kinzhal hypersonic projectile into Ukrainian airspace during the morning of June 14. Flight data from Ukrainian media shows that Iskander-M missiles launched from the Crimean peninsula targeted an area near Zaporizhzhia, although it is unclear whether these attacks were aimed at the HIMARS and M270 MLRS complexes mentioned by the Russian military.
