Westbrook has recently announced that he will be picking up his player option for the 2024-25 season with the Clippers, securing a $4 million salary. Joining him in this decision is forward P.J. Tucker, who opted into his player option for $11.5 million.
Meanwhile, forward Paul George is currently in negotiations for a contract extension with a player option worth $48.7 million on his current contract.
After being acquired by the Clippers last season, Westbrook moved to the bench and embraced his new role despite not initially opposing the change. To further strengthen the team’s bench, they also signed Trentyn Flowers to a two-way contract following his impressive performance in Australia last season.
