Rupert Friend, star of Asteroid City, has been cast in Jurassic World, according to Deadline. He will join an all-star cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Jonathan Bailey. However, the details of his role and the plot are still being kept secret. The film is set to be released on July 2, 2025.

Gareth Edwards is directing the film with a script by David Koepp. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are producing for Kennedy-Marshall, while Steven Spielberg is executive producing for Amblin Entertainment. Sara Scott and Jacqueline Garell are overseeing the production for Universal.

Friend has recently appeared in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City and The French Dispatch, as well as the Roald Dahl shorts The Swan and The Ratcatcher for Netflix. He is also known for starring opposite Ewan McGregor in Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. Upcoming projects for the actor include Michel Franco’s drama Dreams with Jessica Chastain and New Line’s horror thriller Companion from Barbarian’s Zach Cregger.
