Last year, Royal Ascot hosted the World Pool’s biggest five days of the year, generating a total turnover of £154 million from World Pool bet types. This was a significant event for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, which is responsible for organizing the World Pool. Michael Fitzsimons, executive director of wagering products for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, highlighted how Royal Ascot continues to be an important venue for World Pool.
Alastair Warwick, chief executive of Ascot, expressed his delight in working with the Hong Kong Jockey Club once again to offer racing fans the opportunity to bet into the world’s largest commingled pools at Royal Ascot. In addition to the World Pool, there are other exciting betting opportunities available at Royal Ascot. One such opportunity is the Scoop6 pot that has been building up after a series of rollovers and now has an estimated combined pool of £410,000.
Furthermore, there are guaranteed Placepot pots of £250,000 for each of the five days of Royal Ascot. The excitement and potential for high turnover are expected to be strong once again this year as many of the world’s best horses set to compete at the event. The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes generated last year’s highest turnover for a single World Pool race at £6.6 million and records were broken at the royal meeting with Saturday fixture still holding third-highest turnover among all days in 2022 and only Friday and Saturday in 2022 surpassed it.
