Rory McIlroy claimed his fourth career Wells Fargo Championship title with a stunning final back nine at Quail Hollow. After trailing Xander Schauffele by two shots, McIlroy surged ahead with four birdies and two eagles in the next eight holes, finishing with a six-under 65 to win by five shots.

The victory marked McIlroy’s second consecutive PGA Tour title, following his win at the Zurich Classic two weeks prior. He now looks ahead to next week’s US PGA Championship at Valhalla, where he won his most recent major championship in 2014. McIlroy expressed confidence in his game and feels that everything is falling into place for him.

In another tournament, American Chris Gotterup claimed his first PGA Tour title at the Myrtle Beach Classic with a six-shot victory. Gotterup earned a spot in the upcoming US PGA Championship with his win.
