With the NBA Draft fast approaching, Yahoo Sports NBA draft analyst Krysten Peek highlights three players who have been climbing up draft boards. The draft this year is shaping up to be very unpredictable, with surprises expected in both the lottery and late first round.
First up is Providence point guard Devin Carter. Standing at 6’2, Carter was one of the top two-way players in the Big East conference this past season. He impressed at the combine with a 42-inch max vertical jump, tying for first among all players. Carter has worked out for multiple teams in the lottery and could potentially be a target for the Memphis Grizzlies at number nine, where his father Anthony is an assistant coach.
Miami freshman wing Keyshawn George is another player on the rise. Despite averaging just 7.6 points off the bench during his freshman year, George’s passing and shot creation skills show promise as an NBA perimeter player. Rumors suggest that George’s draft range now extends from the mid-lottery to the late teens.
The final player mentioned by Peek is French wing Pacom Dottier, one of the youngest players in the draft. At 6’6, Dottier is seen as a draft-and-stash prospect with significant potential. Teams in the latter half of the first round who are willing to be patient with his development may look to acquire him.
