India has sent seven men and three women to the second World Olympic Qualifier in hopes of obtaining more quotas for Paris 2024. Sachin Siwach and Abhimanyu Loura had contrasting wins in the first two days of competition, while other Indian boxers received byes in the first round. Ankushita Boro will begin her campaign at 60kg and Abhimanyu Loura will face Kelyn Cassidy of Ireland at 80kg.

Out of the 10 Indian participants in Bangkok, Lovlina Borgohain, Nikhat Zareen, and Preeti Pawar have already secured three Olympic boxing quotas for Paris 2024 through their performances at earlier tournaments. However, athlete participation in the Paris Games will ultimately depend on their National Olympic Committees choosing to select them for the delegation. Quotas are available in various weight divisions at the Thailand meet, including three in women’s 60kg, men’s 57kg, and men’s 80kg.

After a disappointing result at the first World Boxing Qualification Tournament earlier this year, Indian boxers are determined to succeed in Bangkok and secure more Olympic quotas for their country.
