At the third round of the Travelers Championship, Cameron Young made history by becoming the 13th player to shoot a sub-60 round on the PGA Tour. Starting the day tied for 24th, Young finished with an impressive 11-under-par 59 at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut. This feat placed him among a select group of golfers who have accomplished this rare accomplishment, with Jim Furyk being the only player to have done it twice.

Young’s round was highlighted by two eagles and seven birdies, with no bogeys on his scorecard. Despite his impressive performance, Young humbly acknowledged that there are other tournament victories that he considers more meaningful in his overall career. Ranked 23rd in the world, Young has four professional wins but has yet to secure a PGA victory. His previous low on the PGA Tour was a 62 at the Genesis Invitational in 2022, making his 59 at the Travelers Championship even more impressive. With this historic round, Young has solidified his standing as a rising star in the world of professional golf.
