In the early hours of Monday morning, a business owner in Richmond was faced with an unexpected challenge when his store was targeted by thieves. At around 1 a.m., three suspects attempted to break into Tom Kirkland Opticians, located off of North 8th Street, using a stolen Honda Accord to smash through the front of the store.

Despite their efforts, the suspects were unable to enter the store and fled the scene before the police arrived. Owner Thomas Kirkland has been working tirelessly to clean up the mess left behind by the thieves and secure his business. He has not had much sleep or food as he focuses on getting his store back up and running.

The incident has left Kirkland feeling grateful for the support he has received from the community and city officials. People have been stopping by to offer their well-wishes and take pictures of the damage. Despite this setback, Kirkland remains positive and determined to reopen his store in the near future.

To show his appreciation for the community’s support, Kirkland plans to create a message wall where individuals can write positive messages for the City of Richmond. He encourages everyone who visits his store to leave a message of encouragement and hope for a brighter future.

If you have any information about this incident or know where these suspects are, please contact the Richmond Police Department at 804-646-6820.
