Gary Reynolds, a member of Rip ‘N’ Sew, recently showed other club members how to enhance their sewing experience through video instruction with minimal extra effort. He demonstrated how combining an external Bluetooth keyboard and rotating stand with an iPad can make the process more efficient.

During the presentation, Reynolds walked students through the steps of positioning the stand, pairing the keyboard with the iPad, and using keyboard shortcuts to navigate video instructions. This allowed them to create their projects without struggling to find small icons on the iPad screen. With just a few taps on the keyboard, students could start, stop, move forward, move backward, speed up, and slow down videos efficiently.

Reynolds also taught participants over a dozen shortcuts that were tailored to their specific needs. Students learned how to create a folder in Safari Favorites to save videos they wanted to refer back to or use later in their sewing projects.
