In May, the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award, along with the WIPO 2023 Award, recognized 47 outstanding scientific works. The award categories included mechanical automation, materials, information technology, electronics, and telecommunications, among others.

The first prize in the Energy Saving and New Energy Use category went to the project “Application of ultra-fine dry grinding technology to produce high-quality, ultra-thin, energy-saving bricks and tiles” by author Anh. This project demonstrated the effectiveness of applying dry grinding technology to save energy costs, reduce labor, and improve competitiveness in the construction materials manufacturing industry.

Another awarded project involved the research, design, and manufacture of smart green lighting systems that integrated solar energy, internet of things (IoT) technology, and artificial intelligence (AI). The project aimed to improve lighting efficiency and predict damages while reducing costs and improving product lifecycle. The smart green lighting applications are being practically implemented in border areas and islands such as Co To Island District in Quang Ninh.

A third project focused on applying solar technology and an automatic stirring system to improve productivity and quality in fish sauce production. By replacing manual processes with automation and utilizing solar energy, the project was able to shorten production time and improve product recovery efficiency. These technological innovations resulted in economic efficiency and higher quality fish sauce production.
