During the first in-person Bus Technology Summit at STN EXPO East, six school bus supplier companies showcased their products and technologies aimed at improving school bus transportation operations. Each company emphasized the importance of data collection and analysis in streamlining district operations.

Tyler Technologies highlighted the customization of their technologies based on transportation staff’s insights, while 247Security focused on best practices for integrated video systems and Safety Vision provided a preview of their new video management software. REI stressed the importance of durability and reliability in school bus camera equipment, while Zonar showcased their dispatch management and driver time clock management tools as well as student ridership insights through Zonar Z Pass and the MyView Parent App.

Attendees participated in hands-on activities such as completing bus inspections using Zonar’s electronic verified inspection reporting tool. Transfinder demonstrated how to collect and analyze ridership data, emphasizing the importance of tracking student ridership. Overall, the Bus Technology Summit at STN EXPO East was a valuable event for school transportation professionals to learn about the latest innovations in the industry. The summit is set to return to STN EXPO East in Charlotte, North Carolina in March 2025.
