Walmart recently announced the opening of a new 1.5 million square foot fulfillment center in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. This facility, located just ten miles north of Hagerstown at 1915 Ebberts Spring Court, marks the retailer’s fourth next generation facility and is set to open in 2026. The Antrim Township Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman, Patrick Heraty expressed his excitement about the new center, stating that it will be a great benefit to residents in the county and the greater south-central Pennsylvania region.

These state-of-the-art facilities combine people, technology, and machine learning to enhance shipping and delivery speeds, as well as increasing Walmart.com order fulfilment capacity. The new fulfillment center will play a key role in expanding access to Walmart’s next- or two-day shipping services. When combined with the rest of Walmart’s fulfilment network, these centers will allow the retailer to serve 95% of the US population with fast and reliable shipping options.

In addition to its role in shipping and delivery, the new facility will also support Walmart Fulfillment Services, the retailer’s end-to-end third-party fulfilment service by providing space to fulfil Marketplace items. Overall, Walmart’s investment in these innovative fulfillment centers demonstrates their commitment to improving the online shopping experience for customers across the country.
