The UAE government has developed a new platform called “Uask” that offers accurate and authenticated answers to questions related to public procedures and services. Accessible through the “U.ae” portal, this virtual expert uses artificial intelligence to answer a wide range of queries, including inquiries about visa options, official documents needed for moving to the UAE, establishing a business, tax laws, healthcare services, and education systems in the country.

Developed by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TADRA), this platform serves as a virtual assistant similar to “GBT Chat.” It was first introduced in 2018 with an automated conversation called “Chatbot” and integrated generative artificial intelligence capabilities in 2022. Its full platform release occurred in May 2023, with a more advanced version launched in July of the same year to offer enhanced functionality.

The platform is designed to assist tourists, new residents, and citizens seeking quick answers or guidance. It can be accessed easily on computers and mobile devices. The platform has seen a significant increase in user interaction and satisfaction levels, attracting around 2 million visitors per month with an exceptional acceptance rate of 99.7%.

By utilizing artificial intelligence tools located on the cloud platform “FedNet,” Uask aims to provide the best government services in the world by 2031 as part of the “We Are the Emirates 2031” vision. This technology enhances user experiences and access to digital services within the digital government sector, bridging the gap between citizens and their government effectively.

Uask employs voice command features for easier access to information and can anticipate user needs, making interactions more efficient and interactive. Recognized with the “Eye on Innovation for Governments” award by Gartner in 2023, it has been honored for its innovative use of data and technology in the digital government sector at
