This feature is particularly useful for Android users who may have lost or stolen their device, as it allows them to remotely locate it even if it is not connected to the internet. Additionally, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro users can now locate their devices even if they are turned off or have run out of battery.
In May, the service will become compatible with third-party tracking accessories from brands such as Chipolo and Pebblebee. These accessories have been designed specifically for use with the Google service, allowing users to easily locate Bluetooth devices or lost items. The Find Nearby button displays the exact location of these devices, making it easier for users to track down their belongings.
