The Japanese government has pledged to provide K Hospital with 1.83 billion Yen in aid, equivalent to 300 billion VND, for the purchase of modern equipment for cancer examination and treatment. This funding is part of a project support agreement signed on May 28th, which aims to upgrade the hospital’s medical equipment. The aid will be used to purchase advanced equipment such as PET/CT and SPECT/CT machine systems, magnetic resonance machines, computerized tomography machines, angiography systems, and more.

K Hospital’s Quan Su facility has reopened after a 5-year renovation period. The facility now has 200 inpatient beds and 120 day treatment beds, aiming to serve about 1,000 cases per day. At the signing ceremony, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan and Mr. Sugano Yuichi sealed the agreement.

The investment project at K Hospital is expected to last from 2024-2026 with the hope of having all necessary machinery in place by the middle of next year. This project is crucial for improving the oncology examination and treatment capacity in Vietnam as the incidence and death rates from cancer have been on the rise in recent years. With three facilities and over 2,000 medical staff, K Hospital is a key player in cancer treatment in the northern region of Vietnam.
