In recent news, Eco.mio, a Berlin-based B2B startup, has secured seed funding in the “low seven-figures” with the backing of IBB Ventures, Identity.vc, and the Hans(wo)men Group, as well as support from N&V Capital, Partners in Clime, and various individual investors. The company was established in 2021 with the goal of helping businesses achieve their climate goals and reduce travel costs by expanding beyond Germany and developing new products for hotels, rental cars, and solutions related to CO2 taxation and budgets.

Eco.mio offers a solution that integrates with existing booking systems to encourage employees to choose more environmentally friendly travel options. The company has partnerships with Cytric by Amadeus, SAP Concur, and BCD’s consultancy Advito. Corporate clients using Eco.mio’s solution have reported a 26% reduction in CO2 emissions. Co-founder and CEO Katharina Riederer stated that the funding will allow them to expand their product range and become a European leader in sustainability solutions for business trips.

Identity.vc co-founder Til Klein highlighted the value of Eco.mio’s ability to integrate directly into the existing systems of business customers. This was a crucial factor in their decision to invest in the company. With this support from investors, Eco.mio aims to accelerate its vision of making sustainability a core element of every business trip.
