The Arizona Science Center is introducing a new series for adults called Spotlight on Science. This series will feature experts from different fields of science for an evening of discussion and education on topics that impact society significantly. The first event in this new series will focus on “Breakthroughs in Blood Biomarkers – Revolutionizing Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis” with Nicholas Ashton, PH. D, an expert in Alzheimer’s disease.

Ashton, the Banner Research Biomarker Program senior director, will explore the possibility of using a blood test to detect Alzheimer’s during the event. Guests can expect to hear about Ashton’s work as a leader in the development, validation, and application of fluid biomarkers like cerebrospinal fluid and blood tests in the fight against Alzheimer’s and related disorders.

The event will take place at the Science Center located downtown at 600 E. Washington St on Tuesday, May 14 starting at 7 p.m. There will also be a VIP reception for ticket holders starting at 5:30 p.m. Ticket options for the event range from a VIP experience for $75 to general admission for $40 and student tickets for $20.
