In the 2023 season, Texas A&M Athletics Hall of Fame inductee John Isner achieved the No. 1 spot on the ATP Doubles Rankings. His partner, Ivan Dodig, was ranked No. 2 in the world. Together, they secured five tournament wins in 2023, including a Grand Slam Title at the French Open at Roland Garros. They clinched the championship a year after losing in the Paris title match in 2022.

John Isner posted a 47-19 record in doubles and held the No. 1 ranking for 13 weeks, including 10 consecutive weeks at the end of the season. Hailing from Tampa, Florida, Isner amassed 7,130 doubles points, which is more than any other player this season except for his partner Dodig’s total of 7,840 points. This point disparity is significant as it is the largest since the final rankings were determined by a new system that took into account performance on both clay and hard courts.
