Independence Day is a time for Americans to gather together and celebrate their country’s birth. This holiday, which falls on Thursday this year, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress in 1776. While many people will take advantage of the day off from work to spend time with family and friends, there are some stores that will remain open to serve customers.

Several large retailers such as Target and Walmart will maintain their regular hours on the Fourth of July. Most Kroger grocery stores like Fred Meyer, Dillons, and Ralphs will also be open. However, Sam’s Club will have adjusted hours for Plus and Club members only, while Costco warehouses will be closed for the holiday. Whole Foods will operate normally during this time, but Trader Joe’s will close early at 5 pm.

As a national holiday, many services like the United States Postal Service, UPS, FedEx and most banks will be closed on Independence Day. However, UPS Express Critical and FedEx Custom Critical services will still be available for urgent shipments. Non-essential government offices such as DMV and public libraries will also be closed on July 4th. Despite these closures, online banking services and ATMs will remain operational to provide convenient options for those needing access to financial services.
