Garrison Geis and Mikey Cruz, both sophomore starters for the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, are set to compete in the Junior College World Series starting Saturday in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Cruz, who stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 240 pounds, has had a strong season hitting .324 with 18 extra-base hits, including two home runs. In 61 games, he has driven in 55 runs and scored 39. Geis, who is 6-foot tall and weighs 200 pounds, is hitting .349 with 14 extra-base hits, including two home runs. In 44 games, he has scored 41 runs and driven in 36.

Both players honed their skills at Reno High under coach Pete Savage and were key members of the 2022 team that had a standout season. CSN has a strong record of 51-10 overall, with a 26-3 conference record. They clinched their spot in the JuCe World Series by winning the Region
