Joseph and Sharon Bryant, a well-known couple from Batesville, Arkansas, were remembered as pillars of the community after their tragic death in a plane crash near Marianna in Lee County on May 12th. The couple, who were returning home from Florida at the time of the accident, left behind a legacy of community service, generosity, and kindness.

Joseph Bryant was an Arkansas State University graduate who owned Bryant’s Pharmacy & Health Care for almost four decades. He was known for his community-minded nature and played a key role in establishing the Sara Low Memorial Dog Park in honor of a local woman who perished in the 9/11 attacks.

Described as model citizens who took pride in their hometown, Joseph and Sharon Bryant were deeply involved in community service and philanthropy. They were known for their generosity and kindness towards others. The loss of these beloved individuals has left the community devastated.

Wesley McClure, manager of Bryant’s Pharmacy, assured customers that the business would continue to operate in memory of Steve Bryant’s wishes. Steve was not only a successful businessman but also a dedicated supporter of Arkansas State University, where he had graduated with a business degree in 1973 and later made significant contributions to the Athletics Department.

The couple married in 1973 and raised two daughters together. Details about their funeral arrangements are still pending. The community of Batesville and beyond mourns the loss of these beloved individuals who left behind such a positive impact on those around them.
