The Casper-Natrona County Health Department conducts regular inspections of various food facilities, including restaurants, grocery stores, and mobile food units. These inspections are conducted without prior notice and aim to identify any potential safety hazards or deficiencies in the facility’s operations.

The primary purpose of these inspections is to educate businesses on how to maintain a safe working environment and correct any issues that may arise. The department does not have a pass or fail system for health inspections; instead, violations are categorized as priority, priority foundation, or core.

If a reinspection is required, it indicates that the violation is more severe or that the facility needs additional time to make necessary corrections. Facilities have ten days to fix any issues identified during an inspection. The department publishes full inspection reports on its website, which include details of any serious violations or noteworthy comments.

Recent inspections at Dooley Shell #102 and Papa Murphy’s West revealed violations related to employee practices and equipment temperatures. These violations were corrected during the inspection, and no reinspection was required. Starbucks Coffee #11862 CY also had violations related to equipment temperatures, which were addressed on site.
