In Europe, the average person throws away over 6.5 kg of clothes per year, with most ending up in incinerators or landfills. This amounts to nearly 5 million tonnes of clothing disposed of annually on the continent, often due to issues related to laundry care such as fading colors, wear and tear, and stains. Electrolux, a Swedish household appliance brand, has introduced a new smart hi-tech range dedicated to garment care in an effort to reduce environmental impact and prolong the lifespan of clothes.

The new range includes washing machines from the 600-700-800-900 series, washer-dryers from the 700-800 series, and dryers from the 600-700-900 series. These appliances feature a DynamicDisplay screen for simplified navigation and personalized guidance as well as an Electrolux app that provides consumption data and guides users toward more efficient choices. The SmartSelect and SmartSave functions adjust cycle settings to save time, energy, and water with the goal of reducing the environmental impact of appliance usage.

Electrolux’s new range promises the complete removal of over 50 common stains in less than an hour using a special system that distributes detergent and softener evenly before reaching the drum. The company aims to double the lifespan of garments while addressing the environmental impact of textile consumption. The new range will be available across Europe starting in June 24th. With its focus on sustainability and efficiency, Electrolux helps consumers make informed choices in caring for their clothes while reducing their environmental footprint.
