In the upcoming months, LEDP will resume its outreach efforts to Longmont’s primary business community in person. This spring, the organization will conduct interviews and an online survey to gather insights on the needs and concerns of these businesses. Through these efforts, LEDP has identified issues such as talent retention, housing costs, and availability.

LEDP is recognized for its outreach efforts among primary employers, providing them with data insights, reports, incentive negotiations, administration of the North Metro Enterprise Zone, advocacy, and site selection services. Executive Director Erin Fosdick expressed excitement about the opportunity to visit companies in person and address the issues and opportunities related to doing business in Longmont.

Annually, LEDP presents a comprehensive overview of the business landscape in Longmont at its economic summit. However, in years where in-person interviews were not possible due to COVID-19 restrictions, Fosdick noted that it was challenging to get a complete picture of economic issues and opportunities. By conducting in-person meetings now, LEDP hopes to engage with businesses more effectively and facilitate connections among investors.

In order to set up these meetings with Longmont area employers, volunteers will be instrumental in gathering valuable insights and fostering collaboration within the business community. With this information, LEDP can better understand the challenges faced by local businesses and develop solutions that support their growth and success.
