Recently, fifth graders at McKinley Elementary presented their science fair projects to a panel of judges. This diverse panel included Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson, members of the Board of Education, state highway patrol and police officers, and other community members.

The students showcased a variety of projects, including “The Impact Project,” which was presented by Jax Huffman and Rydar Bowser to Mayor Wilson. Jennifer Whitman, a Board of Education member, learned about egg shell durability from Skylar Lewis and Myriah Moore. Board of Education President T.K. Hiscox judged a project from Aubree Pancurak and Torie Young.

State Highway Trooper Nathan Bowlen was among the judges listening to Teagan Triplett and Aubree Keys as they discussed their experiment on soap versus grease. The event allowed students to showcase their creativity and scientific knowledge in a real-world setting. It was a great opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in front of a diverse panel of judges.
