The Adirondack Health Foundation is hosting a raffle for a 14-foot Peterborough boat named “Amah & Grandpa,” donated by former Upper Saranac residents Joe and Charlotte Blitt. Built in 1940 by the Peterborough Canoe Works in Ontario, Canada, the boat is equipped with a 15-horsepower outboard motor and can seat five. The boat has been restored by Joe Blitt.

The winning ticket for the raffle will be drawn on Saturday, July 6 at Adirondack Health’s annual Gala at Paul Smith’s College on the shores of Lower St. Regis. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win. Tickets are available for $20 each or six for $100 and can be purchased online at or by calling the Adirondack Health Foundation at 518-897-2370.

Joe and Charlotte Blitt have donated this unique piece of watercraft to support the mission of the Adirondack Health Foundation, which aims to improve health outcomes and wellness in the Adirondacks region of upstate New York. The foundation works to fund programs and initiatives that address critical health needs in the community, such as access to healthcare services, mental health support, and healthy lifestyle education. By participating in this raffle, you can help support these efforts while also having a chance to win an amazing piece of history.
