On May 21st, 2024, the St. Thomas Yacht Club in the US Virgin Islands hosted the 5th Annual Hotel and Tourism Regatta. The event aimed to strengthen relationships with the business community to acquire sponsor and logistics support for larger signature events in popular venues. The regatta utilized STSC’s one-design IC24s and brought together five 4-person teams from the territory’s hospitality and tourism sectors. The teams competed in a day of sailing races to promote sailing in the U.S. Virgin Islands and enhance community spirit.

Prior to the regatta, a three-hour coaching session was conducted with the teams by 2024 St. Thomas International Regatta Champion Spencer LeGrande and International Coach, World Champion, and STSC Director, Bobby Brooks. This coaching session provided teams with valuable practice and techniques to prepare for the races. Following the regatta, Brooks expressed his satisfaction with the level of competition and camaraderie displayed by all the teams. He congratulated them on their outstanding performances.
